1. Right of withdrawal
Under Section 19 of Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on consumer protection, a consumer has the right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason within 14 days from the day of receiving the goods. If a single order contains several books delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last of them.
The withdrawal deadline is met if the withdrawal notice is sent to the seller no later than the last day of the 14-day period.
The seller grants the right of withdrawal across its entire catalogue. The books are not sold in separate protective packaging, so opening the parcel has no bearing on that right.
2. Withdrawal process
The customer may notify the seller of withdrawal by e-mail at info@parvilectores.sk or by post to the seller's registered address, stating the order number and a clear statement of the intention to withdraw. The model form below may be used, but is not required — any unambiguous statement is sufficient.
The books must be sent back to the seller no later than 14 days from the day the withdrawal notice was sent. Enclosing a copy of the proof of purchase helps match the parcel to the order.
The customer may examine and leaf through a book as they would in a bricks-and-mortar bookshop; such handling has no effect on the right of withdrawal. The customer is, however, liable for any diminished value caused by handling beyond that — for example writing or colouring in the book, tearing out pages, breaking the spine or soiling it.
Return shipping costs are borne by the buyer. It is recommended to send the parcel by tracked or insured post; the seller is not liable for loss or damage in transit during return.
3. Refund
The seller will refund all received payments, including the cost of the cheapest standard delivery offered, within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notice.
The seller is not required to issue the refund before receiving the returned goods or proof of their dispatch, whichever comes first.
The refund will be made using the same payment method as the original payment, unless agreed otherwise. Cash refunds are not possible for original online payments.
4. Model withdrawal form
This form follows the model annexed to Act No. 108/2024 Coll. Complete and return it only if you wish to withdraw from the contract. Use of this particular form is not mandatory.
